What you'll need before your first run.
Bringing your dog along is a few simple steps. Most of this is standard vet paperwork β your vet has seen it all before.
Rabies certificate
Current rabies vaccination certificate from your vet. Required for interstate and Canadian travel.
Health certificate (CVI)
A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection, usually valid 30 days. Required for crossing state lines and into Canada.
Other vaccinations
Distemper, parvo, bordetella, and other vaccines per your vet's recommendation. Keep records handy.
Microchip (recommended)
Not required, but highly recommended for any dog on the road. If they wander, microchip is how you find them.
